About the Ambrosiana Foundation

The Ambrosiana Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, one of Italy’s premiere cultural institutions. Within the walls of the Ambrosiana Library and Art Gallery in Milan is preserved one of the greatest repositories of Humanist learning in the world. Its collections include books, manuscripts, and documents from the 5th to the 19th centuries; prints and drawings by artists such as Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, and Pieter Brueghel the Elder; and galleries of paintings representing the pinnacle of artistic production in the 15th and 16th centuries.

The Ambrosiana Foundation is dedicated to helping the library’s continuing efforts to maintain, preserve, and display their collection. It also aims to increase public awareness of the institution and advance the study of the Ambrosiana’s rare holdings, thereby helping to guarantee that its treasures will inspire present and future generations of visitors and scholars.

We welcome your involvement in the Foundation. Your interest in our activities and your support will help us achieve our goals.
